„Steep ascents, a long climb up and plenty of the Karwendel: a varied day on the via ferrata, with the Bettelwurfhütte as a well-deserved destination.“

Description
With around 1,300 metres of climbing and a further 800 metres of elevation gain on the approach and descent, this route is one of the most demanding via ferratas in Tyrol – even though the approach can be significantly shortened by using an e-bike. Although the difficulty level is mostly moderate (C), steep sections, flat passages and the length of the route repeatedly demand strength and concentration. Unique climbing sections and the wild Karwendel landscape ensure that there’s never a dull moment.
At the end of the via ferrata, the Bettelwurfhütte awaits as a rustic place to stop for refreshments and a taste of authentic Tyrol – both in terms of cuisine and scenery. Those who wish can stay overnight here and cross the Bettelwurf the next day – either via the challenging alpine via ferrata (C/D) or via the partially secured standard route (A/B). Of course, there is also the option of descending directly into the valley after a cosy night’s stay.
